My Approach to Therapy

I work with people who are going through anxiety, grief and loss, difficulties in relationships, or periods of change and uncertainty in their lives.

In therapy, it is important for me to create a space where a person can speak openly and feel truly heard, without judgment. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect for the client’s inner experience, and careful attention to what unfolds in the therapeutic process.

In our work, we explore emotions, patterns of thinking, and bodily sensations. In Gestalt therapy these dimensions are deeply interconnected, and through becoming aware of them a person can begin to understand themselves more fully and discover new ways of relating to their experiences.

I believe that meaningful change begins when a person reconnects with themselves, develops a deeper awareness of their inner world, and gradually finds their own sources of support and resilience.

Questions that often arise before starting therapy

Do I need to come to therapy with a clearly defined problem?

No, that’s not necessary. Many people come to therapy with a general feeling of anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or inner tension but find it difficult to clearly explain what is happening. In therapy we can gently explore this together. Often it is enough to simply have the desire to understand yourself a little better and find more support and clarity in your life.

How does the first consultation take place?

The first meeting is a chance for us to get to know each other. We can talk about what brought you to therapy, your expectations, and what you would like support with. It is also an opportunity to see whether you feel comfortable working together.

How long does one session last?

One session usually lasts about 50 minutes. This gives enough time to talk calmly about what matters to you and to explore your experience at a comfortable pace.

How often do sessions take place?

Most often sessions take place once a week. However, the frequency can be discussed individually depending on your needs and situation.

What if it is difficult for me to talk about my feelings?

That is completely okay. Many people find it difficult to talk about their feelings at first. In therapy there is no pressure to share more than you are ready for. We move at your pace, and over time it often becomes easier to put experiences into words.

Are our conversations confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental principle of therapy. Everything you share during our sessions remains private, with the exception of rare situations required by law.
